The traditional bodhran player used to sit in the corner playing like a metronome and looking like a garden gnome, fortunately these days are past and the modern audience now expects plenty of action  from the Celtic percussionist and show great appreciation for the instrument, even if dyed-in-the-wool traditional musicians still wish deep down that you were playing somewhere else.
